چکیده

This paper describes a determination of critical gas saturations and relative permeabilities relevant to the depressurisation of two North Sea fields. A series of reservoir condition coreflood experiments and associated numerical simulations is described. Four experiments were conducted with aged cores and fluids and each comprised of a waterflood, followed by depressurisation at different rates. The laboratory data included extensive three-phase, in-situ saturation measurements which were used to derive gas relative permeabilities through the simulations.

Waterflooding identification of continental clastic reservoirs based on neural network

This article describes an approach based on artificial neural network to identify waterflooded zone of continental clastic reservoirs. For the logging sequence of waterflooded zone matching the characteristics of the continental oilfield, the application of artificial neural network algorithm is able to distinguish water layers, oil reservoirs and dry layers among reservoirs of waterflooded zon...

A Review of Reservoir Rock Typing Methods in Carbonate Reservoirs: Relation between Geological, Seismic, and Reservoir Rock Types

Carbonate reservoirs rock typing plays a pivotal role in the construction of reservoir static models and volumetric calculations. The procedure for rock type determination starts with the determination of depositional and diagenetic rock types through petrographic studies of the thin sections prepared from core plugs and cuttings. In the second step of rock typing study, electrofacies are deter...

Positive Coupling Effect in Gas Condensate Flow Capillary Number Versus Weber Number

Positive coupling effect in gas condensate reservoirs is assessed through a pure theoretical approach. A combination of linear stability analysis and long bubble approximation is applied to describe gas condensate coupled flow and relative permeability, thereof. The role of capillary number in gas condensate flow is clearly expressed through closed formula for relative permeability. While the m...

Development of In-situ Measurements to Determine Reservoir Condition Critical Gas Saturations during Depressurisation

This paper describes the development of experimental methods to determine critical gas saturations and relative permeabilities relevant to the depressurisation of volatile oils. A series of reservoir condition coreflood experiments at pressures up to 415 bara and 123°C is described. The experiments were conducted with aged core and fluids and comprised of a waterflood followed by depressurisati...

Capillary Pressure and Relative Permeability Behavior of the J1 and J2 Reservoirs at Bullwinkle

Capillary pressure and relative permeability behavior of unconsolidated sands are capillary pressure behavior of deepwater turbidites and described differences present in six facies. Honarpour et al. (1986) discussed several models for estimating relative permeability between end-point measurements and documented empirical exponents used by other workers to describe flow behavior associated wit...
